JOB SHADOWING

The Director of the Foundation, Andreas Theodorou, visited the K.E.E.P.E.A. “Orizontes” in Athens, through the Erasmus+ program 2024-1-CY01-KA 121-ADU. During the job shadowing mobility, he participated in meetings, learned about procedures and gained knowledge about the best practices, tools and methodologies used in the host organization.

TRAININGS - SEMINARS
1.Visit (7-12 July 2025) in Barcelona.

On July 7-12, 2025, a seminar on “Art as therapy: Self-Expression and Special needs in Art Education” was held in Barcelona, in which the Foundation’s Rehabilitation Officer, Eugenia Pieri, participated.

An exceptional experience in a fantastic city, rich in cultural life and beautiful architecture that inspires everyone to delve deeper and engage more and more with the arts.

The seminar aimed to understand the therapeutic power of the Visual Arts through the application of various art techniques, such as painting, three-dimensional art, collage, mixed media and photography.

The seminar instructor played a catalytic role in creating a close-knit, empathetic group ready to share new and personal experiences. Specifically, the team consisted of thirteen people from eight different countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Poland, Greece, Cyprus).

2.Visit (7-11 July 2025) in Almada.

On July 7-11, 2025, a seminar on “3D Printing and Robotics in Education” was held in Almada, in which the Foundation’s Rehabilitation Officer, Christodoulos Michael, participated.

The seminar aims to combine 3D printing and robotics in education, with the aim of creating important educational tools that have a significant impact on teaching. These tools, in addition to their use in teaching various subjects, can also become very important in awakening students’ creativity and interest in the subject!

TRAINEE MOBILITY
1.Visit (2-9 February 2025) in Poland.

On February 2 – 9, 2025, a trainee mobility took place in Poland, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program (2024-1-CY01-KA121-ADU). The mobility was attended by trainees of the Foundation who are trained and work in the Foundation's Cafeteria and Confectionery, accompanied by two members of staff. The participants visited the Cafe Równik coffee shop that employs people with intellectual disabilities and worked with them for a few days. They also visited the Association of Psychostimulation Creators and Supporters Dyna Lingua, the Polish Association of the Deaf Lower Silesian Medical Center Ltd and the University of Health and Sports Sciences in Wrocław. At the University they took part in physical activity classes using Eduballs. In their free time they had the opportunity to get to know Polish culture and cuisine. The group returned with great enthusiasm and the most beautiful memories.

2.Visit (9-15 March 2025) in Greece.

​On March 9 - 15, 2025, a trainee mobility took place in Athens, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program (2024-1-CY01-KA121-ADU). The mobility was attended by trainees of the Foundation who participate in the Self-Advocacy group accompanied by two staff members.

The participants visited the "Estia" Day Center, which hosts people with intellectual disabilities and Down Syndrome. There they had the opportunity to meet and exchange views with the respective Self-Advocacy group, participate in the Center's workshops and participate in activities in the Ecological Park of Neo Psychiko.

In their free time, they had the opportunity to learn about Greek history by visiting the Acropolis and archaeological museums and traveling by boat to the beautiful island of Aegina.

The group had an amazing time and returned full of enthusiasm, new knowledge and memories.

TRAINEE MOBILITY
1. September 2024 - Dimitra Tsonga

In September 2024 a training seminar was held on the topic of “Grow Mindset – Enhance Motivation: Strengthening our Self-Leadership!”, with speaker Dimitra Tsoga from Greece. The purpose of the seminar was to strengthen and develop the way in which each of us recognizes, guides and influences with positivity and a mindset that develops himself/herself and those around him/her. The seminar was attended by the educational and therapeutic staff of the Foundation.
